Ivan Provorov was excited at the chance at getting back on the ice with a few of his Flyers teammates.

While Ivan Provorov has been skating on his own in Wilkes-Barre, returning to the Voorhees ice was another story. It was a chance to join some of his Flyers teammates for the first time since mid-March.

Provorov is among a handful of players that have stayed in the area during the pause. Sean Couturier and Joel Farabee have been seen on the ice recently as well.

For Provorov, coming back to the area has felt more fulfilling than when he was training on his own.  And being able to see some of his teammates to catch up has been a bonus.

When hockey is to return sometime during the beginning of August, the Flyers will be doing so as a top seed in the East. They will also be far away from home. The NHL has yet to determine the two hub cities.

There have been rumors that Vegas is an option and that the league may also want Toronto to be the other choice.

No matter what, it was be a different experience than usual for all teams. As Provorov mentioned, it will be like one long road trip for the Flyers.

And spending all of that time together could help the Flyers regain the chemistry they had before the season was paused.

"“We were definitely rolling, and like I said before, it was the best hockey I’ve been involved in in the four years I’ve been here. Hopefully it doesn’t take us a long time to get back to that. I think the three weeks of team practices are definitely going to help.”"

Training camp is slated to begin around July 10th and will certainly help teams find their groove again. The Flyers had won nine of their last ten games before the break.

Provorv had bounced back from a down season, no doubt with the help of Matt Niskanen as his partner. He posted 36 points in 69 games. He was on track to break his career high from his second season.

While he won’t be able to do that, Provorov will get another crack at the postseason with the Flyers.
