Oskar Lindblom was seen on the Voorhees ice with his teammates for the first time since his diagnosis.

Oskar Lindblom has been out since his diagnosis of Ewing’s Sarcoma in December. He has been nearing the end of his treatments and took a big step to returning on Tuesday afternoon. Lindblom was on the ice with some of his Flyers teammates.

Even though he won’t be playing in the upcoming 24-team playoff, it was exciting to see him back on the ice. It was a much needed feel-good moment with everything going on right now.

We can certainly wonder if him being on the ice is the right decision. But there’s no doubt the Flyers are being extremely careful with this. Risking his health would never be an option.

Being able to take part in any kind of practice will provide a boost to Lindblom and his teammates. Even if he isn’t back to where he was before the diagnosis

"“Tough not to be as good as I used to be when you’re normal. But it’s fun to be out there, fun to be with the boys again.”"

And that’s the most important part of all of this. Lindblom getting the opportunity to feel like a part of the team by being on the ice with teammates.

Lindblom has remained in the area since the season has been paused. He is receiving his treatments at Penn. That is likely what allowed him to be on the ice. If he had gone back home during the pause, there is almost no doubt he would be remaining there throughout the playoffs.

The fact that he is able to skate bodes well for how he is feeling. The hope is that he will be ready to play with the team for the 2020-21 season, whenever that is.

Lindblom also echoed thoughts that he believed the team has a great chance to go far this postseason. While not under the best circumstances, he had a front row view to what the Flyers were doing this season.

The best part for him, though, will be being able to skate and practice with all of his teammates come training camp.
