With the first round over, we’ve got the dates for the Flyers second round series.

The NHL finished up the first round on Friday night as both games saw the leading team clinch the series. For the Flyers, that was a 3-2 win that sent them to the second round. The Western Conference has Vancouver over St. Louis.

There will be no back to back champion once again this season. And while we had a could of lengthy overtime games, there was no Game 7 this year. So with all of that said and done, we have the second round series schedule ready to go.

The Flyers will be taking on the New York Islanders. They are a familiar opponent to Philadelphia and didn’t exactly have an easy time against them this season.

But they will have time to change that starting this Monday when the series kicks off. Here is the official schedule for the entire series against New York.

Game 1: Monday, August 24 – 7 p.m.
Game 2: Wednesday, August 26 – 3 p.m.
Game 3: Thursday, August 27 – 7 p.m.
Game 4: Saturday, August 29 – 12 p.m.
*Game 5: Monday, August 31 – TBD
*Game 6: Wednesday, September 2 – TBD
*Game 7: Thursday, September 3 – TBD

*if necessary

If this series is the take the full seven games, we will see two separate sets of back to backs during it. We also have the Flyers as the home team during the same games they were against Montreal. That is Game 1, 2, 5, and 7. Perks of being the top seed in the conference.

While being the top seed, it appears that the other second round series in the East may be considered the more marquee matchup. That is between the Tampa Bay Lightning and Boston Bruins. Those two have the night game every time they play, including when both series face off on Wednesday.

They are two proven teams, but both the Islanders and Flyers have proven themselves even more in the first round. Nevertheless, the Flyers will have a tougher road ahead of them than they did against Montreal.

The Islanders will given them more trouble as they have a better supporting cast than the Canadiens did. So expect the Flyers to have to be on their game a lot more than they were in the first round.
