We asked Flyers fans what their ideal lineups would be for next season if the team did not make another move.
With about $4.8M left in cap space and Phil Myers still un-signed, it is unlikely that the Flyers will be making any more moves to their team. Never say never, but they appear to like what they have for next season. They were quiet in free agency, adding Erik Gustafsson and Derrick Pouliot. And they took care of a few of their own NHL free agents in Brian Elliott, Robert Hagg, and Nolan Patrick.
So they mostly kept to themselves, despite rumors that they were possibly in on Patrik Laine. There was some thought they might be interested in Alex Pietrangelo when he was available as well. But none of those came to fruition, though the trade of Laine still could.
The Flyers will have almost all of their team returning for another go at a playoff run. They lost Tyler Pitlick, Nate Thompson, and Derek Grant to free agency. The former was the only one who seemed to have a true chance at coming back. And Matt Niskanen decided to call it a career, thus the signing of Gustafsson.
While they could still be looking for someone to partner with Ivan Provorov and potentially a third-line center, the Flyers have a few different combinations they could throw out on the ice. And after polling fans on what they would like to see, some of them had a few things in common.
