The Flyers very own mascot Gritty is currently trending on social media platform Twitter with over 10,000 posts in the last 24 hours.

Gritty is trending on Twitter after a surge in memes were uploaded to Twitter and went viral following the 2020 presidential election, with a fellow Flyers fan Joe Biden winning the race.

Several users took to the social media platform to upload their favorite Gritty memes and it took off from there.

The mascot was named the official Philadelphia mascot back in 2018, and he was immediately met with some controversy with some fans saying the look of the mascot may be scary to younger fans.

Today, not only is he trending on Twitter for the time being, but everyone loves the playful mascot.

Here are some of our favorite memes that were posted and soon thereafter went viral with thousands of likes.

Imagine seeing the White House interior filled with Gritty – that would be quite the sight to see. By the way, Philadelphia was a big must-win in the presidential race for Biden and that’s how the trend started.

When the mascot was first revealed back in 2018, he made an epic response and subtle warning to fans and other mascots not to mess with the one-and-only.

It’s safe to say that fans and others took the warning, and they know that the mascot should not be messed with.

A Gritty look-a-like was even spotted in the streets of Philadelphia dancing with people in the streets celebrating Biden’s victory.

It’s safe to say, once again, everyone loves Gritty. It’s only a matter of time before fans are able to actually meet the mascot in person once the entire COVID-19 thing clears up and it is safe to do.

Mascot for the win!
