A couple of Flyers forward were recently recognized among the best at their positions.

Over the last few weeks, the NHL has been releasing their Top 20 players by position series. And the Flyers have found themselves a part of almost every list thus far.

The league has been releasing their own lists while giving the fans a voice as well. The list began with the league’s best defensemen. And there was a name that didn’t end up making the NHL’s list.  Even Claude Giroux took notice to the absence of Ivan Provorov.

Thankfully the fans took notice and voted Provorov as the 15th best defenseman right now. It’s fair to say that he isn’t the best in the NHL right now. But he certainly deserves some more recognition from the league.

The fans showed their support for some of the other Flyers when it comes to both the center and wingers list. The fan list is very different from what the league came up with, especially when you look at both forward positions.

Ask the fans and Travis Konecny is a top-10 winger in the league. The young forward did have a career season in almost every category and earned his new contract. But he might not be that high on the list. Giroux came in at 11th on the fan list, but was 18th when it came to the NHL’s ranking.

Another example of Flyers fans making sure the world knows about their team came with the most recent reveal. Selke Trophy winner Sean Couturier had to be named one of the best centers in the game right now, right?

He almost wasn’t as he came in 18th on the league’s list. It seems hard to be named the best defensive forward in the game and almost be left off a top players list. But apparently the league still isn’t sold on him. An odd hill to die on.

The fans made their voices heard once again as they ranked Couturier as the ninth best center. That is a much better place. He wasn’t the only Flyers center to earn a spot on the fan list.

Kevin Hayes, not originally welcomed with open arms, has completely earned the love from the fans. And he was actually ranked higher on the list that Couturier. According to the fans, Hayes is the sixth best center in the league. Talk about support for the first year Flyers center.

That is likely a bit high for Hayes, but it goes to show how much he is well-liked. He probably shouldn’t be above Couturier, though.

The league still has their top goaltenders left to reveal and we should certainly see Carter Hart on both the NHL and fan lists. That list will be revealed on Nov. 22nd as the NHL gets ready to release their Top 50 players.
