Zayde Wisdom did not participate in day one of the Flyers training camp on Monday and nobody knows why.

Flyers forward Zayde Wisdom did not participate in the first day of the Flyers training camp. The team placed Wisdom on the did not participate list, but did not provide a reason.

It’s currently unknown if he had suffered some type of injury or is unable to participate due to other reasons. Further clarification should come from the team late Monday night or sometime during the week leading up to the season.

Wisdom missing unexpectedly is certainly interesting, and it does raise some concern. Perhaps he suffered a minor injury and just needed a few days from camp off, or the worst case scenario – the injury is significant enough to keep him sidelined from hockey action for some time. The fear of the unknown is worrisome, but fans shouldn’t be so worried.

The 18-year-old was drafted in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft in the fourth round and signed an entry-level contract with the team shortly after.

There was a great possibility Wisdom would not make the team, however having him attend and participate in training camp could be seen as critical in development for the young forward looking to become the next NHL star.

For now, the team has been pretty quiet on his absence and we can only hope an explanation will be provided sometime in the very near future to provide more insight into what is going on with the young forward.
