The Philadelphia Flyers are reportedly a potential landing spot for veteran defenseman Keith Yandle.

Keith Yandle, the 34-year-old defenseman currently playing for the Florida Panthers, is reportedly being moved out of Florida sometime in the near future. The Flyers are reportedly one out of two teams that could end up being a potential landing spot for Yandle.

The news that the defenseman could waive his no trade clause comes after TSN reported that Yandle had fallen out of future plans for the Panthers after playing 866 consecutive games in a Panthers uniform.

It’s extremely important to note that he has not asked for a trade and the team has not waived him, but it is also evident that the team is looking to part ways with the longtime Florida Panther.

Fox Sports Midwest’s Andy Strickland was one of the first to say that Philadelphia could be in the mix to acquire the defenseman. It really does seem Yandle has been attached to Flyers trade rumors for awhile now, as it has been previously reported a couple years back that he could come to Philly.

Yandle signed a seven-year, $44.45 million deal with the Panthers back in 2016. He has only three seasons left on his deal that is set to expire following the 2022-2023 season.

If the Flyers decide to pursue a player to acquire on Trade Deadline Day, which is on April 12th this year, the team could add a player with a  $6.17 million cap hit and still be in compliance with the salary cap, per The Athletic’s Charlie O’Connor.

Another team that is reported to be potentially in the mix is Boston. The Boston Bruins are a more realistic potential trade destination for Yandle, but anything can happen.
