The Phantoms hockey season is closely creeping up to the official start date of February 5th. With that the Philadelphia Flyers are doing some housecleaning. First by quietly announcing that forward Tanner Laczynski has been removed from injured reserve and assigned to Lehigh Valley to start the season.

Next, according to a source knowledgable with the situation, the Lehigh Valley Phantoms will be signing goaltender Zane McIntyre and forwards Ryan Fitzgerald and Tanner MacMaster to AHL contracts.

All three will report to Phantoms’ training camp which opens in the upcoming weeks in Allentown at the PPL Center.

With Flyers prospect Roddy Ross still unsigned, the Phantoms will be bringing in Mcintyre to spilt time with Sandstrom and Ross is expected to sign.

Zane McIntyre posts an impressive 101-53-22 adding 13 career shutouts and wrapping this up with 2.52 GAA plus a .909 SV%.

McIntyre kept is game going while waiting for the AHL’s Return to Play by appearing in six KHL games with Dinamo Riga. While making spots in the AHL with Providence, Utica and last season with the Binghamton Devils he comes back in the AHL with a 15-10-2 record in that league in 28 games started.

McIntyre finds a new team after being released three days ago from his PTO with the Coyotes. A perfect pair with the prospect, Sandstrom to learn from the veteran McIntyre.

Forward Ryan Fitzgerald, 26, unites with his old teammate McIntyre after the two of them spent time in the ranks with the Boston Bruins organization.

Fitzgerald adds experience to this young Phantoms core, 195 AHL games to the resume of Fitzgerald with 43 goals and 60 points in four seasons with P-Bruins. His father is Tom Fitzgerald (general manager of the New Jersey Devils), Casey Fitzgerald who spent two seasons with the Rochester Americans is one of his two brothers and he’s cousin’s with Kevin Hayes, Keith, Matthew and Brady Tkachuk.

28 year old Tanner MacMaster leaves the Toronto Marlies after two seasons north of the boarder. Three seasons in the AHL with the other one being with the Utica Comets. 124 games played in the league, the veteran brings a playmaking presence to the Phantoms squad by tailing 54 points (17, G & 37 A).

Here’s now a new look breakdown by position with the three new editions of the latest Phantoms.
