After last night’s embarrassing 6-1 loss to the Buffalo Sabres, the Philadelphia Flyers got payback and shutout the Sabres with a 3-0 final score.

In the first period, both goaltenders were perfect stopping all the shots coming their way.

Even though no team was able to score in the first period of play, the Flyers were able to generate some nice offensive chances and looked way better than any of the 60 minutes on Monday.

Things got heated from both sides with some good hits, and Buffalo not forgetting what happened last night to Ramus Dahlin which resulted in NAK getting a fine.

It was a different story for the second period of tonight’s game.

Elliott was magical and kept the Flyers in this hockey game. Especially when the Sabres swung the momentum in the final six minutes of the second. Five minutes into the second, Phil Myers exited the game with an apparent injury which appeared to be caused by a Jake McCabe hit.

Following the game, the Flyers said that Myers will get an MRI tomorrow and the team will know more Wednesday.

Morgan Frost was injured early on in the second period as well, marking the second injury for the Flyers in the game.

Philadelphia got a break as Travis Konecky scored his fourth goal of the season off of a sweet long stretch pass from Oskar Lindblom to find TK’s stick for the breakaway goal to score the Flyers’ first goal of the night.

Entering the third period, the Flyers lead 1-0 and began the period on a power play.

Philadelphia would start the 3rd period on their third man advantage of the night.  Jakub Voracek scored on a beautiful 2-on-1 feed from Kevin Hayes but give credit to Erik Gustafsson with a heck of a play to set that entire thing up.

The Flyers would cap off with an empty netter off a long chip shot from Kevin Hayes giving Philadelphia win defeating Buffalo 3-0.

A 40 save shutout for Brian Elliot. His 3rd against Buffalo. Flyers will have an off-day on Wednesday before embarking on their first road trip of the season.
