The Philadelphia Flyers are finally headed back home to the Wells Fargo Center where they will look to get back in the W column in front of fans waiting tonight versus the Washington Capitols. It has been a long stretch of games since the Flyers have been home. The last time they were on home ice was February 24th. Since that last game, the Flyers have played 5 games in 7 days. They went 3-2-0 in that road trip beating the Sabres both games in Buffalo whole shutting them out both games.

They then traveled to Pittsburgh to the Penguins on for a 3 game series in which they went 1-2.

They have their 6th game in 8 days tonight at 7 pm against the Washington Captials. The Flyers have a big task ahead with losing 2 out of 3 games in that crucial series against Pittsburgh. They are currently tied for 4th place with the Penguins now with 27 points each.

The Capitals come into this game 4-1 in their last 5 games. They recently lost to the Bruins 5-1 on Friday. They looked very weak against the Bruins. Not only did they lose the game, but they will be losing Tom Wilson for 7 games with that dangerous boarding of Brandon Carlo, which ended up sending him to the hospital.

The Flyers and Capitals have met 1 time this season in Washington where the Flyers won 7-4.

The Flyers looked really good and played a full 60 minutes in that game. Scott Laughton also had a hat trick and led the Flyers to that win. If Philadelphia can limit their turnovers, have the special teams contributing and put a full 60 minute game together, then they shouldn’t have much trouble against the Caps. They seem to match up well against the Caps and should be extra motivated to play well because if they do not, they will hear the boos of the fans.

Phil Myers will play tonight after missing yesterday’s game in Pittsburgh due to an injury. Michael Raffl will not play tonight after suffering an apparant injury.

Scratches: Robert Hagg (healthy), Michael Raffl (injury)
