With the NHL opting out of the Olympics, a big game in the scheduled opened up. And the league made sure to fill that up as soon as possible. The NHL will be making up a total of 98 postponed games, with 95 of them scheduled from February 7th-22nd. For the Flyers, that added four extra games to their February schedule.

In addition to that, there were two games that were moved to a closer date. That turned it into a total of six Flyers games that have changed dates. There’s a seventh game that was simply given a time change as well.

The nearly revised scheduled is as follows:

Feb. 9th vs. Detroit Red Wings  7:00 p.m. (Originally scheduled for Jan. 18th)
Feb. 12th  at Detroit Red Wings 1:00 p.m. (Originally) scheduled for Feb. 23rd)
Feb. 15th  at Pittsburgh Penguins  7:00 p.m. (Originally scheduled Dec. 23rd)
Feb. 17th  vs. Washington Capitals  7:00 p.m. (Originally scheduled for Dec. 21st)
Feb. 21th vs. Carolina Hurricanes  3:00 p.m. (Originally scheduled for Jan. 11th)
Feb. 22th  vs. St. Louis Blues  7:00 p.m. (Oroginally scheduled for Feb. 28th)

Along with these schedule changes, the Flyers game against the Winnipeg Jets on April 27th will now begin at 7:30 p.m. instead of the originally scheduled 8:00 p.m. puck drop.

This now gives Philadelphia a total of eight games scheduled for the month of February. That doesn’t sound like a lot, and there are some days where there are three days between games. But nonetheless, it’s a much busier scheduled than originally anticipated.

With so many games around the league needing to be made up, it was bound to happen that the previous break for the Olympics would be used for this. As long as no other games end up being postponed, this will allow the league to conclude the regular season at the scheduled April 29th date.
