The Flyers will welcome in the Vegas Golden Knights as they wrap up an eight-game home-stand on Tuesday night. Philadelphia is looking to win a second game in a row for the first time since their wins against the Kings and Jets on January 29th and February 1st.

They’ve gone 2-7-1 since coming back from the All-Star break. The Flyers are coming in off a physical battle against the Blackhawks. It was a back and forth game in which Philadelphia trailed at two separate times in the eventual victory. Martin Jones earned his first victory since the end of January.

Vegas is coming off a tight victory against the Ottawa Senators. Jack Eichel, who has three goals and six points in nine games, scored the game-winner with 5.3 seconds remaining in the third period.

Philadelphia Flyers

Record: 17-28-10 (44 points, 8th in Metro)

With a few weeks to go before the trade deadline, the Flyers will likely be showcasing more than a few different players in their lineup. While Claude Giroux is the name to watch, there are others who may or even have drawn some interest around the league.

If Derick Brassard can remain healthy until then, he may be a name that teams could kick the tires on. Justin Braun’s name has been thrown around as well. Rasmus Ristolainen is another name that could draw potential interest for contending teams looking for a more physical edge. Though, the Flyers are rumored to be discussing a potential deal with Ristolainen.

So while there isn’t a lot to look forward to with 27 games still left, it’ll mostly be about pride and trying to find some consistency the rest of the way. The Flyers have certainly been able to get that from Carter Hart, who will be in net this evening.

A season after he struggled mightily, Hart has been much improved this year. He holds a 2.94 GAA and a .910 SV%. Those numbers are a big reason why the Flyers aren’t even lower in the standings than they are. Going up against an opponent who has plenty more to play for won’t be an easy test.

Projected Lineup

Giroux – Laughton – Konecny

Farabee – Brassard – Atkinson

Lindblom – Hayes – van Riemsdyk

Mayhew – Brown – MacEwen

Provorov – Braun

Sanheim – Ristolainen

Yandle – Seeler

Vegas Golden Knights

Record: 32-21-4 (68 points, 3rd in Pacific)

As mentioned above, the Knights are very much in the playoff picture as we head towards the final month of the season. They currently hold the third spot in the Pacific, but not many points separate them from being on the outside looking in.

Since the break, they’ve gone 5-6-1 and have been shutout in two of those losses. This will open up their five-game road trip as they are also in the midst of their fourth game in the last six days. So the Flyers should have the fresher legs for this contest and could use that to their advantage early on.

Jonathan Marchessault has been anything but inconsistent for a team that has struggled to put their own consistency out on the ice. He leads the squad in goals (24) and points (42). On the backend, Alex Pietrangelo continues to perform in his second season with the team. His 30 points are fifth on the team.

Robin Lehner, expected to be in net tonight, has been his usual workhorse self. In 37 games, Lehner has posted a 2.79 GAA and a .909 SV%. He was in net for the team’s victory against the Senators, giving up just a single goal on 40 shots faced.

Projected Lineup

Pacioretty – Eichel – Roy

Marchessault – Karlsson – Smith

Carrier – Stephenson – Amadio

Dadonov – Leschyshyn – Kolesar

Hague – Pietrangelo

Theodore – Whitecloud

Hutton – Coghlin
