Fresh off a National Championship, Bobby Brink now has his sights set on the NHL. The Flyers have signed the 2019 second-round pick to a three-year, entry-level contract. The deal kicks in this season, meaning Brink will make his NHL debut as early as Tuesday in Washington.

Brink is turning professional after spending the last three seasons at the University of Denver. His most recent season was his most successful in the NCAA. He led all players in college hockey with 57 points, 14 goals and 43 assists, in 41 games. Those 43 assists also led all players in the NCAA as well.

Brink was a part of a Denver squad that went 31-9-1 this past season. That was all capped off with their 5-1 victory on Saturday night over Minnesota State. It was Denver’s first men’s National championship since 2017 and their ninth title overall. Brink assisted on the overtime winner against Michigan that sent the Pioneers to the title game.

Brink earned numerous awards for his outstanding junior season. He was named First Team All-American (West), NCHC Player of the Year, NCHC Forward of the Year and was named All-NCHC First Team. He was one of three finalists for the Hobey Baker Award, given to the top men’s hockey athlete. Minnesota State goaltender Dyden McKay took home the award.

During his three years at Denver, Brink appeared in 84 goals and was over a point-per-game average, finishing at 1.10 PPG. He recorded 27 goals, 65 assists, and 92 points overall. Brink becomes the fourth member of the 2019 draft class to sign his ELC. He joins Cam York, Ronnie Attard, and Mason Millman. And he will be joining the first two with the Flyers shortly.

Speaking of, the Flyers will be hoping that Brink will be able to continue developing his game at the NHL level. He took a large leap forward during what turned out to be his final collegiate season. With 10 games remaining in Philadelphia’s season, they will get a good look at what Brink may be able to bring heading into next year.
