The Flyers will have quite a few veterans in the lineup as they welcome in the Washington Capitals for the second half of a back-to-back. This comes a day after Philadelphia dropped a 2-1 contest against the Sabres. Travis Konecny scored the lone goal in that one.
A large amount of the veterans playing this evening will be making their preseason debuts. This will be the first time Flyers fans will see Tony DeAngelo suit up in the orange and black after the off-season trade from Carolina. He will be paired with Ivan Provorov, also making his preseason debut.
Other veterans playing for the first time include Rasmus Ristolainen, Travis Sanheim, Kevin Hayes, and Scott Laughton. Isaac Ratcliffe will get another chance to impress as he plays for the second consecutive game as will Samuel Ersson. He came on in relief of Troy Grosenick last night, stopping all seven shots he faced.

While this is the Flyers’ third preseason game, this will only be the Capitals’ second. They opened up with a 4-3 OT loss to the Sabres on Sunday. Buffalo tied it late in the third period before skating away with the overtime victory just 1:15 into extra time.
Dylan Strome, Connor Brown, and Charlie Lindgren are expected to make their Capitals debuts this evening. Henrik Rybinski and Ludwig Persson are also making their preseason debuts.
The Flyers will avoid the likes of Alex Ovechkin and T.J. Oshie as they are among the veterans not in the lineup for the Capitals.
