We’ve got an early West Coast game as the Flyers continue their four-game road with a stop in Calgary. Philadelphia is trying to avoid a five-game losing streak which would be their longest since they dropped 10-straight in November.
Dropping eight of their last 10 games, they’ll be facing a Flames team that has lost four of their last six since returning from the All-Star break. They’ve scored 20 goals during that stretch while the Flyers have 11 goals since they returned.
Philadelphia has had a hard time scoring as of later, averaging just over two goals in their last 10 games.
Philadelphia Flyers
Record: 22-25-10 (54 points, 7th in Metro)
Things are not sunny in Philadelphia right now. With just five games left until the trade deadline, this team is likely to sell off quite a few pending free agents. James van Riemsdyk is the top name to go while players like Justin Braun and Nick Seeler have been rumored as well. The Flyers could also ship off Felix Sandstrom, allowing Samuel Ersson to take over the backup spot.
There are a lot of changes needed for the Flyers to become a competitive team again. It’s going to take some time and isn’t going to be an easy fix. While they looked better in their last game against the Canucks, there were still too many mistakes made. A lack of scoring has also been a huge issue.
Travis Konecny seems to be going once again as he was all over the ice against Vancouver. He didn’t end up with a goal, but his effort was key on Morgan Frost’s tally. The Flyers need him, and others, to step up and help break this team out of their funk.
Flyers Projected Lineup
Kevin Hayes-Scott Laughton- Owen Tippett
James van Riemsdyk – Noah Cates – Travis Konecny
Joel Farabee- Morgan Frost- Wade Allison
Nicolas Deslauriers- Patrick Brown- Olle Lycksell
Ivan Provorov – Travis Sanheim
Cam York – Rasmus Ristolainen
Nick Seeler – Tony DeAngelo

Calgary Flames
Record: 26-19-11 (63 points, 5th in Pacific)
Calgary is in the thick of the playoff hunt in the Western Conference. They sit just two points behind Minnesota for the second wild card spot. They’re coming off tight 3-2 win over the Rangers, snapping New York’s seven-game winning streak.
Calgary had a 2-0 lead before the Rangers scored once in the second and third to send the game to overtime. Mikael Backlund won the game for the Flames with his 11th of the season. The Flames have 11 players with 10+ goals this season.
They are led by Tyler Toffoli (22) and Nazem Kadri (21). In his first season with the Flames, Jonathan Huberdeau has just 10 goals after his second 30-goal campaign last season. He is a long way off the 115 points he scored as well, coming in at just 38 points. He is fourth on the team in that stat, though.
