2023 NHL Draft Coverage: When, where, and how to watch the draft
The 2023 NHL Draft will be held at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee, with round 1 taking place on Wednesday, June 28 at 7:00 PM ET and rounds 2-7 taking place the following day on Thursday, June 29 at 11:00 AM ET.
The first round of the 2023 NHL Draft will kick off at 7:00 PM ET tomorrow and will be broadcast by channels ESPN, Sportsnet, and TVA Sports. The final six rounds, which will begin with round two at 11:00 AM ET on Thursday, will be broadcast on NHL Network, Sportsnet, and TVA Sports. For Philadelphia Flyers fans looking to travel for draft day, Broad Street Hockey are hosting their seventh-annual draft party at Sports & Social inside Live! Casino, right down by Citizen’s Bank Park. The party will have Flyers mascot Gritty in attendance, as well as former Flyers players Joe Watson, Bob Kelly, and Todd Fedoruk, accompanied by snacks, drinks, and games. For Philadelphia Flyers fans looking to watch from home but might not have access to the channels listed above, FanSided has provided an affiliate link to its patrons for free trial access for the 2023 NHL Draft. The link can be opened here. In addition, ESPN provides streaming services through their app, and customers of Comcast can view the 2023 NHL Draft coverage through their Xfinity Stream app with appropriate access to the television channels listed above.
The Philadelphia Flyers are hurting all over, but are likely to target forwards early and often. The Flyers are not currently in possession of a second-round pick, so fans looking to catch the day two draft coverage won’t need to be seated exactly at 11:00 AM to see the Flyers’ pick. However, the Flyers have two third-round picks and two fourth-round picks, so those rounds will be worth catching. Flyers draft rumors have cooled substantially as trade talks picked up prior to the 2023 NHL Draft. It’s been rumored that GM Daniel Briere has been on the hunt for another first-round pick, and veterans like Travis Sanheim, Kevin Hayes, and Scott Laughton have been made available for that pick. The latest reports suggest that the Flyers have a plan to secure Russian prospect Matvei Michkov “no matter what”, but will face competition from the Montreal Canadiens, who pick before them, and the Washington Capitals, who could move up to beat the Flyers to the punch. Some alternatives to Michkov might include forwards Ryan Leonard and Zach Benson.
