The California road trip ends with a back to back for the Philadelphia Flyers. After earning their revenge against the Ducks, they will try to do the same against the Los Angeles Kings.

Los Angeles had their way with Philadelphia in the first matchup exactly a week ago. Cam Talbot was lights out in a 24-save shutout while the Kings had five different goal scorers in the 5-0 victory.

Philadelphia Flyers

After scoring just two goals in their previous two games, the Flyers broke out for six in their victory over the Ducks on Friday evening. Despite giving up a hat trick to Leo Carlsson, five different Flyers scored in the 6-3 victory. Owen Tippett scored twice while Travis Sanheim had three points. The latter now leads the team in scoring with that effort.

The power play is still an issue as after an 0-for-3 outing against Anaheim, the Flyers are now in an 0-for-24 stretch. Their last goal on the man advantage came against the Ducks on Oct. 28, a stretch of seven games. The Kings have the eighth ranked penalty kill (86%) as Philadelphia is 30th on the power play (8%). The odds do not favor the Flyers.

There will be a few lineup changes as Bobby Brink and Egor Zamula will come out and Ryan Poehling and Victor Mete will enter. It will be Mete’s debut in a Flyers uniform. Carter Hart, who was originally going to start last night’s game, will be back in the lineup against the Kings.

Flyers Projected Lineup

Cam Atkinson – Sean Couturier – Tyson Foerster

Owen Tippett – Morgan Frost – Travis Konecny

Joel Farabee – Noah Cates – Ryan Poehling

Nicolas Deslauriers – Scott Laughton – Garnet Hathaway

Cam York – Travis Sanheim

Los Angeles Kings

While the Kings have won their first seven road games, the home record is a different story. They are just 1-2-3 when teams come to LA. Their last two home losses have come in overtime, their most recent a 4-3 loss to the Penguins on Thursday.

Adrian Kempe has been hot as of late with goals in three straight games and seven points in his last five games. His 15 points lead the Kings. Anze Kopitar was held off the goal sheet for the first time in three games against Pittsburgh, but does have six points in his last five. He leads the team with seven goals.

Cam Talbot is back in net and has won his last four games, having given up just four goals. The NHL journeyman has been sharp in net with a 2.03 GAA and a .930 SV%, his best numbers since his first year in the NHL back in 2013-14.
