The Flyers are riding high at the moment as they are currently on a three-game win streak. While it’s never easy to win in the NHL, it’s going to be an especially tough test when the Vegas Golden Knights visit for a Saturday matinee.

The two have faced off once already in Vegas. The Flyers were 33 seconds away from getting the game to overtime before a late goal by Shea Theodore gave the Golden Knights the 3-2 win to move their season opening win streak to seven games at the time.

Philadelphia Flyers

Things are looking up for the Flyers right now. They’ve been playing well and getting contributions from the players they need to in order to be successful. Owen Tippett has begun to catch fire as he has four goals in his last three games. Morgan Frost has the monkey off his back and has four points in his last three games.

And the veterans are leading the way both on the ice and off of it. Travis Konecny and Travis Sanheim lead the team with 14 points apiece while Cam Atkinson is right behind them with 12 points. The three of them were also spotted at Friday’s practice with neck guards. Konecny and Atkinson will wear them starting with this game while Sanheim waits for an official order to come in. More and more players and teams have begun adopting the added protection.

The Flyers have good news on the way as well as Marc Staal has officially been cleared after suffering a rib injury. While he is good to go, John Tortorella was not clear on if he would return against the Knights or not. Rasmus Ristolainen is drawing closer to a return, but he is not quite ready yet.

Vegas Golden Knights

The Knights have cooled off ever so slightly since they last faced the Flyers. They have lost three of their last five games, their only three regulation losses on the season. They’ve scored 23 goals in their four wins this month so when they do win, it’s typically by scoring a lot of goals.

The Knights have six players with 10+ points and are lead by William Karlsson’s 19 and Jack Eichel’s 18. Karlsson also leads the team with eight goals while Eichel and Jonathan Marchessault each have seven. 20 players on the Knights have at least one goal this season while 22 players have at least a point. So they are getting contribution from everyone that steps onto the ice.

Speaking of contribution, the combination of Logan Thomson and Adin Hill have been getting the job done so far this season. Hill has appeared in 10 games and has helped the team get a point in all of them. His .928 SV% is tied for sixth best in the league with Linus Ullmark and Jonathan Quick. And his 2.07 GAA is fourth best. As for Thompson, he has appeared in seven games and won five of them. His .925 SV% and 2.27 GAA have him just outside the top-10 in both stats.

Golden Knights Projected Lineup

Ivan Barbashev – Jack Eichel – Jonathan Marchessault

Brett Howden – Michael Amadio – Mark Stone

Paul Cotter – William Karlsson – Pavel Dorofeyev

William Carrier – Nicolas Roy – Keegan Kolesar

Alec Martinez – Alex Pietrangelo

Brayden McNabb – Shea Theodore

Ben Hutton – Zach Whitecloud
