Rasmus Ristolainen to make season debut as Flyers roll into UBS Arena

As for the forwards, there will also be a slight change in the lineup. Morgan Frost, who has been out of the lineup more than in, will play against the Islanders. It’s been hard for him to win over John Tortorella this season. After a career season and a new contract, Frost has yet to earn the full support of his head coach. He has been creating chances but his line mates haven’t cashed in on them. He has four points in 10 games, but had two against the Kings back on Nov. 11.

Bobby Brink comes out of the lineup again as Tortorella had recently seen a dip in his play since the start of the season. It’s possible this is just due to the back to back on the schedule and wanting Brink to watch from up top. But there were some other players who likely could benefit from a game off.

Noah Cates, who has struggled this season, needed 30 stitches around his upper lip last night. While he did return, this would’ve been a good moment to sit him down. Even Scott Laughton, who had been demoted to the fourth line and was benched for almost the entire third period the last time the Flyers faced the Islanders, could use a game off.
