One more game before the holiday break. The Flyers are in Pittsburgh for their first meeting with the Penguins.

The two teams won't see each other again until February when they will play the final three games of the series all in the same month. The final two games will be part of a home and home series.

Philadelphia Flyers

Owen Tippett has been known to be a streaky scorer, though many players in the NHL can say that. He broke out in the overtime win against the Blue Jackets. Scoring the overtime winner, Tippett finished with four points in the victory. Over the last 10 games, he has seven goals and 11 points. A team always starved for offense, they have been getting it from Tippett.

Noah Cates has also been producing lately. He has goals in three straight and five points in his last five games. Tyson Foerster is on a three-game point streak, collecting six points in those games. He has three goals in his last two games.

Division games are always an important two points. With the holiday break following this game, the Flyers have every opportunity to empty the tank and give it their all against Pittsburgh. The Penguins have won the last two games, including a wild 7-6 win back in February. The Flyers are 3-6-1 in the last 10 over their rivals.

They scored five or more goals in six of those games. The Flyers are toward the bottom of the league in goals against (3.56), but so are the Penguins (3.66).

The ageless wonder of Sidney Crosby continues to defy the odds at 37. He leads the Penguins with 35 points, though he only has nine goals. He recently broke a 10-game goalless streak in a game where he recorded four points. Rickard Rakell leads the team with 15 goals, but the red-hot Bryan Rust is on his tail with 14 goals. Rust has not gone more than one game without a point since he failed to register one in two games between Oct. 18 and 20. Since Oct. 22, Rust has 22 points in 23 games.

Tristan Jarry, who has had his fair share of struggles this season, is expected to be in the net for Pittsburgh. He was in the net for the loss against the Devils. In 15 games, Jarry has a 3.51 GAA and a .885 SV%.
