The Flyers will take their six-game point streak into the first game of a back-to-back. This one has them in New York to take on the Rangers.
This is the second game of the three-game series between the two rivals. The Flyers skated to a 3-1 victory when they last faced the Rangers on Black Friday. Travis Konecny had two goals, including an empty netter to seal the victory. Bobby Brink tallied the opening goal.
Both teams are playing well at the moment so this is expected to be an exciting matchup. Along with their point streak, the Flyers have won three straight. The Rangers come in with points in nine straight games.
Philadelphia Flyers
Part of the reason the Flyers have played well lately has been their goaltending. Since the holiday break, Philadelphia has allowed the second-fewest shots per game (23.8). On the season, they rank fifth at 26.4. Sam Ersson is also on a hot streak. He's gone 7-1-0, posting a 1.56 GAA and a .935 SV% during that time. Having him healthy and on his game has been a key factor in the Flyers' success.
The Flyers added speed and flexibility with the addition of Anthony Richard. He had a successful stint with the team earlier in the season, collecting six points in seven games. John Tortorella admitted it "sucked" to send Richard back down, but it was part of the business in terms of who wouldn't require waivers. It's safe to say he'll be happy to have the speedy forward back in the lineup.
Joel Farabee has continued to produce since returning from his stint as a healthy scratch. He has one goal and three assists in the three games since. But that's not all he's doing. Along with Sean Couturier and Matvei Michkov, the three have been rather dominant at limiting opponents.

New York Rangers
After a rough start to the season, the Rangers have found a way to turn things around recently. Their nine-game point streak features six wins and five games that needed extra time. The Flyers are very familiar with needing overtime with 15 of their games going past regulation. Five of New York's six overtime games have come this month.
By no surprise, it's Artemi Panarin who leads the Rangers in all offensive categories. He has 20 goals and 49 points in 45 games. He's rather dangerous against the Flyers in his career. In 34 career games, Panarin has 14 goals and 44 points. Adam Fox is behind Panarin with 38 points, though only two of them have been goals. Chris Kreider is behind Panarin with 15 goals as the Rangers have six players with double-digit goals.
It also shouldn't be a surprise that Igor Shesterkin is the leader in the net. He's won three straight games and has a personal point streak of six games. He's also posted back-to-back shutouts against Ottawa and Columbus. The last goal he allowed came 57 seconds into the second period against Utah on Jan. 16. He enters with a shutout streak of 164:03. On the season, Shesterkin has a 2.78 GAA and a .912 SV%.
