While most Philadelphians have their eyes on the Eagles, naturally, don't go to sleep on the Flyers just yet. The Broad Street Bullies have extended their consecutive points streak to five games. This comes on the heels of a 3-1 victory over the New Jersey Devils. Bobby Brink secured the win with a power play goal and Travis Konecny iced it with an empty netter to shut the door on Jersey.

After dropping their first four games of 2025, the Flyers have roared back by going 4-0-1 in their last five games. Their only loss was a shootout loss to Columbus on Tuesday. The last two wins, against the Isles and Devils, have come against divisional opponents. This surge has placed them within two points of the final playoff spot.

Speaking of getting hot, Konency has been leading the way for the Flyers. During this stretch, he has seven assists and one goal. If he keeps this going, he could inspire the other guys to get hot as well.

As usual, the Flyers started from behind. Dougie Hamilton put the Devils up 1-0 in the first. It would be the only goal that Sam Ersson would give up. Ersson's also been hot during this stretch. He's started four of these last five games, with a shutout against the Ducks.

Matvei Michkov knotted the game up in the second period. Sean Couturier intercepted a pass and fed Michkov who was off to the races. Michkov has two goals and two assists in the last five games. His 14th goal of the year puts him back atop the NHL rookie scorers after going cold for a while.

Brink's goal would come on a power play in the third to break the tie. He was fed by Noah Cates to get a perfect shot right in front. He would also assist on Konecny's empty net goal in the third. This was Cates’ second multi-point game in the last four contests. As he continues his recent hot streak, the Flyers continue to win.

The Flyers will return home after their three game road trip and get some well needed rest. They will host the Detroit Red Wings on Tuesday. After that, they will travel to NYC for a back to back set with the Rangers and Islanders.
