The Philadelphia Flyers released their promotional schedule for the 2025-26 season this week. It includes theme nights, community appreciation nights, and giveaways. Over the past few seasons, there has been very little reason to show up to games, the on ice product hasn't been the most enjoyable and concession prices have only risen. But, the Flyers have always been good at taking care of their fans, and this year is no different. Let's rank the giveaways!
5. Planet Fitness Coupon Giveaway: Thursday Jan. 8 vs. Toronto Maple Leafs
New year, new you! I don't quite understand this giveaway, which is why it is ranked last. Planet Fitness has monthly memberships that cost $15, what could this coupon possibly entail? A free trial? A discount? Some swag? It's unclear from the announcement what the coupon actually is. I am very biased towards apparel, so hopefully there is a shirt in the mix there too.
4. PECO Go Green Camper Hat Giveaway: Monday March 9 vs. New York Rangers
Hockey and hats go together almost as well as baseball and hats. Sure, they're not called hockey hats, but we do have hat tricks where caps of all ages, sizes, and colors rain down on the ice. How cool is it that the Flyers want to replace the hat that you threw onto the ice last season? This is a case of: if it is a Flyers hat with a PECO logo on the side, it could be lovely! But fans don't go to hockey games to wear other company's logos, so hopefully it is at least orange and black.
3. Ticketmaster Sweatshirt Giveaway: Saturday, Feb. 28 vs. Boston Bruins
The only thing better than a free shirt is a free sweatshirt, those things are expensive! The reason this is ranked towards the bottom is because of Ticketmaster. I'm sure there will be a Flyers logo, the sweatshirt may even be orange, but Ticketmaster? Ticketmaster!? The company that has been sued repeatedly for unfair practices and is currently considered a monopoly? If the sweatshirt is more Flyers focused than Ticketmaster focused, it will work fine, but if it is Ticketmaster forward, yuck.
2. Flyers Home Opener T-shirt: Monday Oct. 13 vs. Florida Panthers
I love a free t-shirt, and I have many from various Flyers home openers hanging in my closet. The organization makes it a habit of highlighting local artists, which makes it an even stronger bet that this shirt is going to have rizz. Did I use that right? These shirts are usually Flyers orange, sometimes you can get them in different sizes or they will come in size XXL. If the home opener against the reigning double Stanley Cup Champion isn't a strong enough draw, the free shirt is.
1. Gritty Squishy Plush Giveaway: Tuesday Feb. 3 vs. Washington Capitals
I don't even care what this looks like, give me 50. Gritty is an icon, any giveaway that includes him is going to be great. It will probably be limited edition too, which makes it a collectable! This giveaway works for all ages and is going to be a winner across the board. Mark this one down on your calendars, for a cold February weeknight, it's a can't miss.
An honorable mention goes to the PA Lottery Coupon Giveaway on March 29 vs. Dallas Stars. The economy is spiraling and the cost of living is insane, so it's a nice gesture, but giftcards are right there. The lottery is technically gambling, you need to be 18+ to play lotto. And you need to go to another location to redeem the coupon in Pennsylvania, but not all Flyers fans live in the state. But, it has the potential to make someone rich, and that is cool.
Special ticket packages
In addition to the giveaway nights, there are a handful of special ticket packages available, these are the giveaways you need a specific ticket to receive. If you have general admission on these nights, you will not get the giveaway. These are all really cool and deserve to be mentioned, but not everyone gets them so I didn't want to rank these. Giveaway highlights here include:
- Two different insulated lunch totes with Gritty on them - one for Healthcare Appreciation Night and one for Teacher Appreciation Night.
- Three different drink tumblers with hockey stick handles for Hockey Fights Cancer Night, Ball Hockey Night, and Praise PHL Night. There is also a themed water bottle for Martial Arts Night.
- Three custom coins for Recovery Night, Navy 250th Anniversary Night, and First Responders Night.
- A swim cap with Gritty parts, cakes, and hotdogs for Swim Night.
- A Flyers hat with charms and a patch for both Girl Scout Night and Scouting America Night.
- A hockey stick shaped menorah for Jewish Heritage Night.
- A Flyers themed rugby shersey for Rugby Night.
- The special ticket packages wrap up with the cutest possible giveaway, a Flyers themed Hello Kitty plushie. She's perfect.
The Flyers have also brought back Dollar Dog Night after the Phillies blamed the fans for getting rid of that promotion. A tried and true tradition that the Flyers are happy to keep alive not once, but twice, in the 2025-16 season on December 9 and March 24. They even elevate the dollar offerings on January 10 with a dollar pretzel game and April 5 with a dollar ice cream game.
