The 2026-27 National Hockey League (NHL) season did not start out kind to the Philadelphia Flyers. In their first 15 games, they have only won three. However, it is now a new month, and they are looking to get back on track.

The Flyers open November at home, where they will host the Utah Mammoth. This will be the first game between the two teams for the season. The Mammoth are a newer team in the NHL, after the NHL relocated the Arizona Coyotes to Utah. Since they have relocated, all of their stats have reset. The Flyers have only played against the Mammoth four times, and all four have resulted in losses for Philly so far.

While this record isn't a great sign for the Flyers as they try to get back into the win column, the team will get a much-needed boost as they prepare to host the Mammoth.

Tippett and Konecny projected to be in the lineup

Part of why the Flyers have been having a rough go of the season is because they are already dealing with players who are injured. Travis Konecny has been out of the lineup since Oct. 8. Owen Tippett, another important forward to the lineup, has been sidelined with an injury since Oct. 15.

Both Konecny and Tippett were participants in Friday's practice, which is a good sign they are trending towards a return.

Konecny has led the Flyers in points for the past five seasons. While he hasn't been able to produce many points so far this season, just three assists in five games, having him back in the lineup will be a great boost to the morale of the team overall. Hopefully, both Konecny and Tippett will in fact return in this game and be a prime presence to Philadelphia's forwards group.

With Konecny and Tippett, Noel Acciari and Cole Knuble will come out of the lineup. Acciari only had one goal in 15 games. Knuble made his NHL debut once Tippett exited the lineup. He took his rookie lap on Oct. 19 and, two days later, scored two goals against the Buffalo Sabres.

It has been great to watch Knuble play in his first few NHL games. Even though he is coming out of the lineup, the Flyers haven't sent him back down to the American Hockey League (AHL) just yet. He is projected to be a healthy scratch in this game, but there's a chance he could come back to the lineup in the future.
