Fresh off an energetic and dominant effort over the Ducks, the Flyers will try to make it two straight as the Panthers come to town.
Florida has had the Flyers number in the first two matchups of the three-game season series. The Panthers have scored 11 goals to Philadelphia's 8. The first game needed overtime to decide a winner while the second one saw the Panthers blow a three-goal lead and recover for a 7-5 victory.
The Flyers cannot win or tie the series at this point, but they can salvage at least one win if they can defeat the Panthers tonight.
Philadelphia Flyers
The Flyers weren't shy about how they fed off the crowd's energy on Saturday night. But it won't be the same kind of atmosphere this time around. The team can't rely on the fans being engaged in the same way so they will need to keep doing what made them successful against the Panthers. They won't limit their chances the same way they did Anaheim, but they cannot allow things to come easy to Florida.
Owen Tippett excelled the last time the Flyers faced his former team. He had two goals on the same shift that tied the game for Philadelphia late in the second period. He's shown signs of breaking out again, scoring a goal against the Ducks. His goals come in bunches so he and the team will hope that the trend stays.
The Flyers will have to rely on both goaltenders this week as this is the first game of a back-to-back. Sam Ersson, coming off a shutout, will get the game against the Panthers. He's performed well since returning from an injury, which is a good sign for a Flyers team that hasn't had the best goaltending this season. They'll be in good shape if Ersson can have another solid start. It's a small sample size, but Ersson has a .939 SV% and a 1.62 GAA in two career games against Florida.
Flyers Projected Roster
Owen Tippett - Morgan Frost - Travis Konecny
Tyson Foerster - Noah Cates - Bobby Brink
Olle Lycksell - Sean Couturier - Matvei Michkov
Scott Laughton - Ryan Poehling - Garnet Hathaway
Cam York - Travis Sanheim
Egor Zamula - Rasmus Ristolainen
Nick Seeler - Jamie Drysdale

Florida Panthers
The Panthers provide a tough opponent for the Flyers as they are a physical and well-balanced team. They have lost three of their last five games, taking a point in four of those games though. Still, they aren't going to be an easy team to stop. They remain without Aaron Ekblad, who isn't on the trip with the team.
Sam Reinhart is having another strong season, leading the Panthers in both goals (25) and points (49). After blowing away his career-highs last season, Reinhart is proving that it wasn't a fluke for him. Matthew Tkachuk provided plenty of offensive prowess when these two teams last played. He had a goal and five points in the victory. The Flyers will need to find a way to stop him.
Sergei Bobrovsky will continue his storied career. He has excellent numbers against the Flyers, posting a record of 20-7-0 against his former club. Per usual, he's the guy for the Panthers. In 29 games, he's been a winner in 18 of them and has posted a 2.73 GAA and a .900 SV% to this point.
