Flyers vs Wild, Game 8: Notes, Lineups, And How To Watch
Another chance for the Flyers to get back into the win column.
In the first game of a back-to-back, the Flyers will try to get into the win column for the first time since opening night. It won't be easy against their opponent, the Minnesota Wild.
Early in the season, the Wild are second in the league at 5-0-2. They've won four straight games and as noted by their record, have a point in every game thus far.
It's going to take a lot for the Flyers to find a way to beat them as they haven't allowed more than two goals against since their second game of the season. That was a 5-4 loss in overtime to the Kraken.
Philadelphia Flyers
Let's start with a few injury updates. Travis Konecny was one of two Flyers' skaters who did not take part in practice on Friday. According to Charlie O'Connor of PHLY, Konecny has been receiving treatment since the season started, but John Tortorella did not confirm what type of injury he's dealing with. He is still expected to be in the lineup on Saturday afternoon.
Cam York is the other player in question and his status is more up in the air. Tortorella couldn't give one on the defenseman when asked for an update. York got checked hard into the boards by Nic Dowd toward the end of Wednesday's game. He was slow to get up and would not return for another shift. If he is out for any period, that is a big loss for the Flyers. Since they are at home, they don't need to call up a defenseman at this time. But it's likely to be Emil Andrae once again if they do.
One thing that has been working for the Flyers early this season has been the power play. The unit added two more goals to their season total against the Capitals. They're clicking at 24.1%, much better than their bottom-of-the-league finish in recent years. It's early, but there have been positive signs from this group.

Minnesota Wild
The Wild have come out flying to start the season. Most of their wins have come on the road, though, as they boast a 4-0-1 record away from home. On the road against Philadelphia, they'll be looking to keep their winning ways going.
Kirill Kaprizov has led the way for Minnesota offensively. The Russian forward leads the team with four goals and 13 points. He has points in his last four games, all of which have seen him collect two or more points. Matt Boldy and Mats Zuccarello have four goals apiece as well, with the former registering 10 points and the latter with eight points. Boldy has gotten better as the years have gone on, coming off a career-high 69 points last season. Zuccarello is off to a fast start after finishing with 12 goals last season.
Filip Gustavsson has been the main man in the net for the Wild. He has appeared in five of the team's six games. He has posted an impressive 1.40 GAA and a .952 SV% in those games. Gustavsson has only allowed one goal each in his last three games so it won't be easy beating him on Saturday afternoon.
