The Flyers have a chance to be well-represented at the 2025 World Juniors. Four of their top prospects have been named to Canada's roster for their upcoming camp.

London teammates Denver Barkey and Oliver Bonk, Jett Luchanko, and Carson Bjarnarson will compete with 28 other players to earn a final spot on the roster. The selection camp will run from Dec. 10-13 where Canada will play two games against a group of U SPORTS all-stars. The team will then travel for training camp from Dec. 15-18 as they prepare for the WJC.

Canada will face Switzerland, Sweden, and Czechia in pre-tournament action. The preliminary round begins on Dec. 16 where Canada will face off against Finland. Latvia, Germany, and the United States will be their other opponents.

Four Flyers prospects with a chance to make Team Canada's roster

Bonk has a leg up on his fellow Flyers' prospects out of that group. He is all but a lock to make the roster after playing for Canada last year. He won't remember what happened too fondly, but he should have a chance to make up for things. Bonk is having another strong start in the OHL, posting six goals and 21 points in 22 games.

Barkey is coming into this camp to prove to Canada that he is ready to make the team. He was one of the final cuts last season and used that to fuel him the rest of the way for the Knights. The newly-named Knights captain has had a slow start offensively, with just four goals in 21 games. But he's recently coming off a five-point night that could get him going.

Jett Luchanko impressed at Canada's summer showcase, starting in a fourth-line role before moving up into the top six by the end of the tournament. His limited NHL action at the start of the season may help his case as well. Luchanko is performing well in what could be his last season with the Guelph Storm. In 13 games, he has five goals and 16 points. Rumors have come out that he could be traded to a championship contender at some point.

Carson Bjarnason also performed well for Canada during the summer and should make the roster. It's a toss-up on whether or not he will be the team's starter or backup goaltender. Bjarnason has put on a Canada sweater before, appearing in six games at the WJC-18 during the 2022-23 season. The 19-year-old goaltender is posting a career-high .913 SV% in 14 games for the Wheat Kings.
