The Philadelphia Flyers have a lot of talent on their roster coming into the 2024-25 season. One of those players is Morgan Frost.
Philly selected Frost with the 27th overall pick of the first round in the 2017 NHL Draft. He has since turned into a pretty good NHL player.
So far in his career, Frost has played 229 NHL games. In those games, he has 39 goals and 71 assists for 110 points. At 25 years old, he is a solid depth piece on a team looking to take big steps.
Frost had 18 goals and 46 points in 2022-23 over 81 games played. One year later, he had 13 goals and 41 points but he only played in 71 games. He would have likely set a few career highs had he gotten in those 10 extra games.
The Philadelphia Flyers are hoping for big things from Morgan Frost
Every team in the league needs depth scorers and Frost may be that guy for the Flyers. He comes in as the 12th most important person in the organization right now. He can provide them a scoring touch in the middle six as long as the top guys do their job ahead of him.
Being a 40-point man is significant in the NHL. It isn't a superstar total but it is a solid contributor total on a good team.
Being a former first round pick, a 40 point player might not even be the ceiling for him either. If he is the second line center to begin the year, big numbers could be ahead of him.
During the preseason, he has gotten a chance to play with Matvei Michkov who is a prospect expected to be a star in the NHL one day. Some scouts believe he's as good as Connor Bedard who was the number one pick in his draft.
If Frost does his job as a quality center iceman, Michkov may help his point totals reach new heights. That would also mean big career earnings for Frost as well. All of this talent, potential, and role on the team makes him one of the most important people in their organization.
