3 Maple Leafs free-agents the Flyers should consider signing

The Philadelphia Flyers had a disappointing end to what was an overall good season when you consider the expectations coming in.

They were sellers at the deadline so the future is clearly what they have in mind. However, they are going to want to try and be even better again in 2024-25.

One way that they can make sure they are better is to make a couple of good signings this off-season.

The Toronto Maple Leafs, who were eliminated in game seven last weekend, have a few free agents that would make great Flyers. With John Tortorella as the coach and the fanbase having expectations now, this team needs a boost. These three Maple Leafs are at the top of the list:

Max Domi would be perfect for the Philadelphia Flyers in 2024-25

The Philadelphia Flyers could certainly use some more skill and they'd be getting that with Max Domi. He has shown the ability over the years to score goals and create offense.

Domi also plays the game with an edge. He is very good at getting under the skin of the opposition while playing a tenacious game trying to make plays.

In 2023-24 with the Leafs, Domi had nine goals and 38 assists for 47 points in 80 games played. He'd like to have more goals again next season but his assist total from this season ranks right there with his career best.

The nice thing about Domi is that he can play any position on any line. If he needs to be tough in a bottom-six role, he can still do that while bringing some offensive punch. If he needs to be the third guy on a top line, he can do that too. The Flyers would love to have him.

Tyler Bertuzzi would make a great Philadelphia Flyer going forward

Tyler Bertuzzi would love to play for a coach like John Tortorella. He'd fit right into that system and can play the way Torts wants guys to play.

Bertuzzi would be a great Philadelphia Flyers forward for a lot of the same reasons that Max Domi would be. He is a guy that can provide offense while making life hard for the opposition. Few skilled players are as good at the nasty side of the game as Bertuzzi.

Like Domi, Bertuzzi can play on a big line with star players or he can muck it up on a third line in a checking role. Either way, he is going to score some goals.

In 2023-24 with the Maple Leafs, Bertuzzi had 21 goals and 22 assists for 43 points in 80 games played. That all came with a slow start to the season too which tells you how strong of a producer he became down the stretch.

If the Flyers added goal-scoring production like that to their middle six next season, they'd have a much better chance of being competitive in the Metro again. The fact that he plays with an edge is a bonus.
