After taking down one of the best teams in the league, the Philadelphia Flyers will look to sweep their weekend back-to-back against the Florida Panthers.

The Flyers have played the Panthers well this season. With 2-1 victories in the first two games, Philadelphia can go for the season series sweep on Saturday evening. Travis Konecny and Noah Cates scored in the first matchup, while Ryan Poehling and Garnet Hathaway led the Flyers to victory earlier this month.

The Flyers continue to show how resilient they can be. A sweep of the Panthers would certainly send a message.

Philadelphia Flyers

How many people expected the Flyers to go toe to toe with Boston on Saturday? It was the complete opposite of the chaotic 6-5 game a week ago. Four of the five goals didn't come until the third period. Philadelphia held a 1-0 at the end of the second period and over midway through the third. Konecny, who appears to be getting back on track, had two goals in the eventual 3-2 victory. He has 30-goals in back to back seasons after failing to reach that mark in his career. Konecny has goals in two straight after going six without one.

The Flyers would also like to see Sean Couturier find his way again. He returned to the lineup after being a healthy scratch the previous two games. On a line with Noah Cates and Olle Lycksell, the trio was arguably the best line the Flyers had, even though they didn't register a point. They held Boston's to just three chances while on the ice, registering an impressive 81.25 CF% in under eight minutes of time on ice. It's not known if Couturier will remain on that line for now, but the group's play did earn them some compliments from John Tortorella after the game.

Another player who has done well in his limited time has been Erik Johnson. The Flyers acquired him at the deadline for a fourth-round pick, as most wondered what the team saw in him. He hasn't done anything remarkable but hasn't been a liability out there. With numerous injuries on the defensive end, the Flyers have needed other players to jump in to fill the gaps. While Johnson is likely a rental, he has filled in admirably.

Flyers Projected Lineup

Owen Tippett - Morgan Frost - Travis Konecny

Joel Farabee - Scott Laughton - Bobby Brink

Tyson Foerster - Ryan Poehling - Garnet Hathaway

Noah Cates - Sean Couturier - Olle Lycksell

Cam York - Travis Sanheim

Adam Ginning - Ronnie Attard

Egor Zamula - Erik Johnson

Florida Panthers

The Flyers don't have to worry about the Panthers coming in fresh as they skated in a Saturday evening game. It is also their third game in four nights, just like Philadelphia. So both teams will have to find ways to generate energy in this one. Florida does have to travel after needing a shootout against the Rangers. They are fourth in the league for a reason, though, so don't expect them to give in.

If there is one player the Flyers need to keep an eye on, it's Sam Reinhart. He hasn't lit up the Flyers during his career, posting 13 goals and 19 points in 30 career games. However, he is lighting up the scoresheet this season. Reinhart has 48 goals and 80 points, the latter being a career high. He is thriving during his third season in Florida. Keeping him from getting a point isn't easy as he has 13 points in his last 12 games, going pointless in just three of those games. The Flyers did it to David Pastrnak, can they do it to Reinhart as well?

Florida has other weapons as well in Matthew Tkachuk (23G's, 78 PTS) and Carter Vergaeghe (31G's, 68 points). They are without Aleksander Barkov and Aaron Ekblad. Their top netminder, Sergei Bobrovsky, was in net against the Rangers. Anthony Stolarz is expected to appear in his first game since Mar. 9. Stolarz was in net the last time these two teams faced. He has played fairly well in his limited action, posting a 2.02 GAA and a .925 SV%.

Panthers Projected Lineup

Eetu Luostarinen - Anton Lundell - Sam Reinhart

Carter Verhaeghe - Sam Bennett - Matthew Tkachuk

Evan Rodrigues - Kevin Stenlund - Vladimir Tarasenko

Nick Cousins - Steven Lorentz - Ryan Lomberg

Gustav Forsling - Oliver Ekman-Larsson

Niko Mikkola - Brandon Montour

Josh Mahura - Dmitry Kulikov

Anthony Stolarz
