As the Stanley Cup Final comes to a close, the NHL has gotten a head start on planning out next season. Teams have released their preseason schedules and the Flyers will play seven games ahead of the 2024-25 season.
The opponents mostly fall within the Metropolitan, but Philadelphia does not play every team in their division. They will not face the Rangers, Hurricanes, Penguins, or Blue Jackets. They will also venture out to the Atlantic to play two of their seven games.
Four of seven games will take place on the road while only one game is a matinee matchup. The preseason schedule is similar to what the Flyers had last season, though they have an extra game this year as opposed to the six they played in 2023.
Flyers release seven game preseason schedule
Within the division, the Flyers will face the Capitals, Islanders, and Devils. They will play the Islanders twice, with one matchup apiece against the other two teams. Two games will come against Boston, one home and one away. Their other preseason game will see them head to Canada to take on the Canadiens.
Broadcast information about each game will be released at a later date.

Philadelphia dropped the season series to all of the Capitals, Canadiens, Islanders, and Bruins last season. They won one game against each team, dropping key games at the end of the season to the first three. The Devils are the only team that Philadelphia did not drop the season series to, though they ended up tying it at two wins apiece.
Last season's results won't play a factor in the preseason, but it looks at how the Flyers fared against each team.
With the preseason schedule released, one can assume training camp will begin at least a week or two prior. Development camp will fall shortly after the NHL Draft, expected to be held between July 2-6
The 2024-25 season will be here before we know it.
