The Philadelphia Flyers are going to make the 12th pick in the 2024 NHL Draft. A lot of folks probably thought they wouldn't be picking that high for most of the year but the second half of the season wasn't great for them.
They have to think about the future above all right now and they haven't let off that mentality. Making a solid selection at 12 is going to be big for their franchise.
One player for them to consider is Liam Greentree. He is a Canadian-born forward who plays for the OHL Windsor Spitfires. With Windsor this season, he had 36 goals and 54 assists for 90 points in 64 games. That is great production for a 17-18-year-old in the OHL.
Greentree also played for Canada at the World Junior Championships this year where he scored two goals and had two assists for four points in seven games played.
The Philadelphia Flyers should consider Liam Greentree in the 2024 NHL Draft
His ceiling in the NHL is a top-quality offensive producer. With some of the other young forwards coming up in their system, he might find success in an organization like this.
Greentree is certainly going to be drafted in this area and the Flyers would be smart to consider him if offense is their preferred path in the first round.
There are going to be a lot of prospects that they consider and Greentree is going to be right in the middle of it.
He will be drafted high and (likely) return to Windsor where 2024-25 should be a huge year for him. Having 100 points in that league as an 18-19-year-old is the likely outcome for him if he stays healthy.
The Flyers need to add a stud forward like this into the system. As mentioned before, he would be surrounded by other high-end talent one day which will help him have a great NHL career.
