The Philadelphia Flyers are going to be looking for some reinforcements in 2024-25. If they are smart, they might be able to actually get into the playoffs this time around.

One player that might be able to help them take that next step is forward Massimo Rizzo. He just signed his entry-level deal after winning the Frozen Four National Championship with Denver.

This is the second Natty in three years for Rizzo. Denver has become a powerhouse program again and he has been a big part of it.

He was one of their best players en route to winning it all the second time around. He was a key contributor the first time too but he was one of the elder leaders this year. That type of experience is going to help him on his way to the NHL.

The Philadelphia Flyers have a solid player coming in Massimo Rizzo

In 2023-24 alone, Rizzo had 10 goals and 34 assists for 44 points in 30 games played. He did deal with a little bit of an injury this year but that didn't stop him from being one of the best players in the country.

He was once a seventh-round pick by the Carolina Hurricanes but he made his way into the Flyers organization via a trade. That is working out well for Philly as he is now signed and expected to be a part of the team someday.

He will only be a rookie next season which means that he likely won't light the world on fire but he can help them be a better team overall.

If he has a solid rookie year in a middle-six role, he should be able to become a big-time contributor one day.

With other young players coming through the pipeline, the Flyers could be building something special. Rizzo projects to be a part of that.
