Three of the Flyers' final five preseason games will be played at home, beginning with tonight's matchup with the Islanders. The two teams will play twice in the next five days, the second matchup next Monday at UBS Arena. Assistant coach Rocky Thompson will be behind the bench.

Flyers fans will be treated to the Wells Fargo Center debuts of Matvei Michkov and Jett Luchanko. While it is no surprise to see the former in the lineup, the latter is a bit of a surprise. The surprise is that Luchanko is still hanging around training camp. With the first cuts being made yesterday, the list comprised of junior players and those heading to the AHL.

Despite being only NHL or junior eligible, Luchanko is playing for the former right now. It's not out of the realm of possibility that the Flyers could see him as ready to make the jump. His remaining in camp and getting another preseason game proves that they see something in him.

As the games go on, more and more NHL-level players will be in the lineup. If Luchanko can handle himself among them, the Flyers may be more willing to at least give him the nine-game tryout before making a final decision.

Flyers Roster

With Michkov in the lineup, the Flyers have elected to keep him with Owen Tippett and Morgan Frost. The three looked good together in the win against Washington and will have a chance to continue developing chemistry.

Luchanko's chance will come with two very good players: Travis Konecny and Tyson Foerster. He's getting the opportunity to keep impressing, that's for sure. One player who is getting a chance as well is Jacob Gaucher. Likely AHL-bound, it is a bit surprising to see him getting another preseason game considering he is only on an AHL deal. But the Flyers must like what they have seen.

Anthony Richard, Rodrigo Abols, and Oscar Eklind will play together as they fight for a depth spot on the Flyers' roster

Nic Deslauriers - Jacob Gaucher - Garnet Hathaway

The Flyers' defense rotated during the morning skate so it's unclear in what order they will hit the ice. But we do know the players that will be out there. Sam Ersson is expected to start, but there was no word on if he will play the entire game. Cal Petersen is the backup.

Helge Grans, Travis Sanheim, Cam York, Adam Ginning, Emil Andrae, Erik Johnson

Islanders Roster

The Islanders did not hold a morning skate while Patrick Roy and the players will speak closer to game time. But we have an idea of who may be in the lineup against the Flyers.

If we look at the lines from the Islanders' last practice, these were the second and third lines that ran during the skate. So it's possible some or all of these players will be in the lineup.

Anders Lee - Jean-Gabriel Pageau - Pierre Engvall
Maxim Tsyplakov - Fredrik Karlstrom - Julien Gauthier
