Olle Lycksell with another opportunity in Flyers preseason matchup with Islanders

Olle Lycksell will be in the lineup yet again as a less-than-NHL-heavy roster will travel to Long Island to take on the New York Islanders.

There are three preseason games left on the Flyers' schedule. The next two will be about finalizing the roster and determining any other roster battles. The final game will be getting the full NHL lineup a tune-up before the games count.

The Flyers' roster for this evening features seven players who were regulars in the lineup last season. You can say eight if you count Ivan Fedotov, though he only played in a few games at the end of the year.

Philadelphia also called up a few of their AHL players who had already been sent back. Sawyer Boulton's addition is a nice gesture as his father played a few years with the Islanders. Brendan Furry and Rhett Gardner also got the call to return. They will meet the team at UBS Arena.

The biggest news is that Alexei Kolosov will make his Flyers debut, though it will be in relief of Fedotov.

But going back to Lycksell, this is his fourth preseason game. The Flyers are giving him a long look at cracking their roster. He has a goal and three points, coming off a two-assist outing in the overtime win against the Bruins. Lycksell has taken advantage of the opportunity in front of him and can solidify his spot with another strong game.

Islanders Roster

It isn't going to be an easy test for the Flyers as the Islanders will boast almost an entire NHL roster on Monday night. It seems they are using this as the dress rehearsal game for their group. So don't take too much out of this one if Philadelphia doesn't pull out a win.

A minor change from what was expected is that Ryan Pulock is sick and will not be in the lineup. Grant Hutton, who was skating with the non-game group, is expected to take his spot.
