The Philadelphia Flyers extended Bobby Brink to a two-year deal about a month ago. It will carry an average annual value of $1.5 million for the two years.

Brink played in 57 NHL games in 2023-24 after getting into 10 games at the end of the 2022-23 season. He played college hockey for Denver after being a second-round (64th overall pick) by the Flyers in 2019.

In those 57 games played for Philly last year, he had 11 goals and 12 assists for 23 points. He also played in 13 AHL games, scoring seven goals and having six assists for 13 points.

He'd like to spend the whole 2024-25 season in the NHL and the Flyers are hoping he forces them to keep it that way.

The Philadelphia Flyers are looking to get more from Bobby Brink

Brink will come into this season with an inside track on making the team out of camp. He is a good player who can be reliable in all three zones but he needs to bring consistency to his game.

His offense has another level that it can get to. Getting more quality ice time and having better line-mates would go a long way as well.

There are already a few good veterans there but a guy like Matvei Michkov could change the dynamic of the entire team. A guy like Brink should benefit from a superstar like that coming into the mix.

If Brink can be a great player over these two years, he'll become a very rich man with his next NHL contract. The Flyers would love to be the team that gives him that contract because it will mean that he's been helping them win.

If the Flyers want to be a playoff team competing for the Stanley Cup again soon, kids like Brink will need to be great. He has a lot to offer now but there is more he can bring to the table.
