Matvei Michkov is officially in North America. He found his way there on Tuesday morning after reports rumoring this earlier in the week. He is ready to become a full-time Philadelphia Flyers player after having his KHL contract terminated so he can come over from Russia.

It is exciting to think about the future with Michkov leading the way. It is going to be a while before he leads this team to significant success in terms of wins and losses but it won't be long before he is showing how elite he can be.

The skills he possesses are incredible. He fell to them at seventh overall in the 2023 NHL Draft because of his KHL contract status. Philly's patience/hard work paid off as it was a non-issue in the end.

When Michkov landed in North America, the hockey world was very excited online. The official Flyers social media accounts posted a picture that could live in Flyers lore forever.

Briere and Jones were both good Flyers players but nothing they did would compare to them bringing a Stanley Cup to Philadelphia as executives. Matvei Michkov becoming a star could be one of the biggest keys to that goal.

This type of photo could go down as an all-time great if these three do what they came to Philadelphia to do. It is going to take a long time to get to that mountain top but this is the very beginning.

Now that Michkov is in North America, he can focus on playing hockey. He makes others around him better but he has to get used to the pro game on this side of the pond. With his skills, it won't take long.
