Sean Couturier played in his 900th game as a member of the Philadelphia Flyers on Sunday. Per NHL.com's Adam Kimelman, "Couturier is the fourth player with 900 games for the Flyers, joining Bobby Clarke (1,144), Claude Giroux (1,000) and Bill Barber (903)."

That's quite an achievement for Couturier, who has been a staple on the Flyers since he debuted in 2011-12. Couturier's reliable play went into high gear during the 2017-18 season when he ended the year with 76 points and 31 goals across 82 games, finishing second for the Selke as one of the league's best two-way forwards.

He followed those numbers up in 2018-19 with another 76-point outing, this time with 33 goals in 80 games. Couturier took sixth for the Selke that season before he won it outright following his 2019-20 campaign, when he notched 59 points and 22 goals in 69 games.

Most recently, Couturier is one of the leaders of a young, rebuilding Flyers team looking to gain traction in the Metropolitan Division. He's still a reliable point-producer, with 17 points and five goals in 26 games, remains solid defensively, and is dependable in the face-off circle, with a 52.5 face-off win percentage.

Sean Couturier entered a rare club following his 900th game with the Philadelphia Flyers

Claude Giroux is a name that stands out to Flyers fans. From his two-game cameo in the 2007-08 season to his trade to the Florida Panthers in Mar. 2022, Giroux played in 1,000 games for the Flyers, racking up 291 goals and 900 points.

Bobby Clarke played all 1,144 games in a Flyers uniform, recording 358 goals and 1,210 points. Clarke won two Stanley Cups in Philadelphia, three Hart Trophies, the Selke Trophy, Masterton Trophy, and Pearson Award, known today as the Ted Lindsay Award. Clarke is also a member of the Hockey Hall of Fame.

Bill Barber also played all 903 of his games with the Flyers and is also in the Hockey Hall of Fame. He was part of both Stanley Cup-winning teams and ended his Flyers career with 883 points and 420 goals.

Sean Couturier has a good chance to end his career with the most games in Flyers history

Sean Couturier only needs to play in four more games to pass Bill Barber for third all-time for the most games played in Flyers history. Couturier is also in his fourth year of an eight-year contract, has a no-movement clause until the 2028-29 season, and a modified no-trade clause for the 2029-30 season.

He's just 245 games from breaking Bobby Clarke's record, so if he stays healthy and doesn't waive his NMC, Couturier will get there at some point.

Whether he gets there or not, Couturier has cemented himself as a Flyers legend and one of the greatest players in team history. If he leads the Flyers back to prominence, he'll further cement his legacy.
