The Philadelphia Flyers should be one of the more intriguing teams in the NHL this season. With lots of young talent mixed in with some veteran stalwarts, this team in transition should be an interesting watch the whole season. With a new coaching staff and mentality in the building, there is a reason to watch every night. Almost.
We get it. You are a dedicated fan. You read the blogs, you get the push notifications, and you shell out for internet and TV add-ons so you don't miss any of the action. Sometimes, though, you do. It happens. So, we're listing a few games on the schedule that you shouldn't feel bad not catching live.
November 26th vs Florida Panthers
It's the night before Thanksgiving. It is one of the best nights of the year to be out and about, and the Flyers are on the road. You'll catch some of this one on the TV at the bar without sound as you stare at someone you think you recognize from high school.
Also, it's the night before Thanksgiving! You're probably cooking and panicking that you've got too many people and not enough food, promising to wake up early and run to the store. Don't worry about this game too much.
December 30th vs Vancouver Canucks
The Christmas holidays are long. You've been bogged down by family, bowl games, and you're trying to figure out how you're supposed to stay up past midnight tomorrow night on New Year's Eve. Flyers after dark just isn't what we need.
Plus, the Flyers are playing a late game on New Year's Eve! They've got a date in Calgary starting at 9:30. Throw it on and ring in the new year with the Orange and Black.
February 5th vs Ottawa Senators
The Winter Olympics start on the 6th, which means top players across the league will be gone. There may even have been some hockey already being played over in Milano-Cortino.
Don't get me wrong, I love the Flyers. We all love the Flyers, but how often do we get to see bobsledding? Are you not enthralled by the biathlon? Brand new Team USA outfits? Tara Lipinski and Johnny Weir talking all sorts of smack about everything?
March 21st vs San Jose Sharks
Is there a worse time for a start? The weather is starting to finally pick up, and now that we're unfrozen, we are trying to be outside. The Phillies are playing spring training games. You're hitting a happy hour in Clearwater. March Madness is going completely insane.
I'm sorry, honey, but can we have dinner at PJ Whelihan's tonight? I'm waiting to see if my Zegras parlay for this week pays off. No? Yeah, didn't think so. Shout out to the hot and honey wings.
While we advocate that you watch every game, and promise that we will here, these are a few that we'll be very understanding if we find out you've skipped them.
