The Philadelphia Flyers are one of the hottest teams in the NHL since their return from the Olympic break. They have used their momentum and positive play to climb up the standings into third place in the Metropolitan Division. That comes after they were well outside of a playoff spot.
On Tuesday night, the Flyers defeated the New Jersey Devils handedly 5-1. Four of the goals arrived from two players — Tyson Foerster and Trevor Zegras, both of whom had two goals each. This is now the Flyers' seventh win in the past 10 games, and it brings them to 92 points in 78 games, keeping them two points ahead of the Columbus Blue Jackets.
After the game, Zegras spoke about these games with playoff implications, and said that he's getting much more comfortable.
"It feels like almost for like, a month now, we've been playing must-win games."

"It feels like almost for a month now we've been playing must-win games. Definitely getting more comfortable and definitely settling in a little bit," said Zegras.
Trevor Zegras 'getting more comfortable' during Flyers' playoff push
When asked how much fun the Flyers have been having, Zegras pointed out that he's never played in games with this much importance throughout his career.
"It's great. I know personally for me, I haven't played any games other than this season of this magnitude, and I think a lot of the other guys would say the same," said Zegras.
The Flyers gave a chance to Zegras, who was on a downturn during his time with the Anaheim Ducks. It's well known that injuries and coaching philosophy played roles in Zegras' regression. But in his five seasons with the Ducks, Zegras never got close to playoff contention. Anaheim were at or near the bottom of Western Conference standings, and were well over 10 points out of contention every season in Zegras' career.
But with the Flyers, Zegras is helping the team make the playoffs after a roller coaster season. Even though he's never competed in huge games like this in the final stretch of the regular season, he isn't folding. Rather, he is playing at the top of his game, as evidenced by his three point performance in the win over the Devils.
Since the Flyers' return from the Olympic break, Zegras scored five goals and recorded 11 assists in 22 games. In Philadelphia's past 10 games, Zegras recorded a point in nine of them. In that stretch, Zegras has three goals and eight assists to his credit.
Zegras stepped up when the Flyers needed him most. However the rest of this season goes for the Flyers, a contract extension for Zegras should be a priority, as he is set to hit restricted free agency this upcoming offseason.
