The Philadelphia Flyers are heading to the second round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs for the first time since 2020, which was coincidentally the last time the team made it into the postseason. On Wednesday night, the Flyers met a determined and desperate Pittsburgh Penguins team that had won their last two games. Through three periods of Game 6, both teams could not put the puck in the back of the net. The Penguins were threatening and goalie Dan Vladar was standing on his head.

Defenseman Cam York decided to end things late in overtime. With under three minutes left in overtime, York unleashed a wrist shot that went past Penguins goalie Arturs Silovs, who was screened and missed the puck. With that, the Flyers clinched the 1-0 victory and secured their spot in the second round.

Take a look and listen to the goal call from NBC Sports Philadelphia's Jim Jackson.

"Cam York from distance! And the Flyers are on their way to the second round! And it's a beautiful thing," said Jackson.

Cam York's OT winner helps Flyers eliminate Penguins

Talk about an incredible clip and call. This will live on in Flyers history. This was the first time that the Flyers made it to the playoffs in five years and clinched their first serie victory, And it all came at the expense of their "Battle of Pennsylvania" rivals in the Penguins.

This was the first time in York's career that he had made it to the playoffs. Before Game 6, he notched one assist in the series, which arrived in Philadelphia's Game 4 loss to Pittsburgh. Not only did he score his first goal of the playoffs, but this is his first goal in 37 games, dating back to Jan. 21.

After the game, York was asked about his celebration, in which he threw his stick over the glass and into the crowd with glee. York said that he hoped everyone was okay and that he didn't "want a lawsuit."

Now with this series done with, York and the Flyers can now set their focus to the Carolina Hurricanes, who advanced after sweeping the Ottawa Senators. While the Hurricanes are going to be a formidable opponent on paper, it's hard to count out this Flyers team. Let's not forget, the Penguins were favored in this series.

What a moment for York and Flyers fans. Would not be a shock if Flyers fans are watching this clip of York's goal multiple times throughout their day on Thursday.
