The Philadelphia Flyers have a lot of good players. We have been counting down the top 15 people in the organization over the last few weeks and that continues with number 10.

Travis Sanheim is the number 10 person in the organization right now. Sanheim is a veteran defenseman who has been nothing short of great in his NHL career right now.

He plays well in his own end while also bringing some offense. Last season, he had a career-high in goals with 10. He also had a career-high in assists with 34 and points with 44. It was a great year for him on the offensive side of the puck.

It is unclear if Sanheim will bring more of that offensive jam again in 2024-25 but there is a strong chance that he does entering his age 27 season.

The Philadelphia Flyers have a lot of hope for Travis Sanheim in Philadelphia

He entered the true portion of his prime last year and now he's ready to keep that going. When he made his NHL debut in 2017-18, the Flyers were a very different-looking team. He stuck with the team through a rebuild and now they are starting to climb back to where they were when he first arrived.

To be this high on the list of important people in the organization as a defenseman speaks volumes about his impact. All hockey fans know how important it is to have depth at that position and Sanheim is a big part of that for Philly.

There are some wonderful players in the Metropolitan Division. Sanheim will be out there against guys like Jack Hughes, Sidney Crosby, and Artemi Panarin, amongst others on a regular basis. It isn't an easy job but he can help the Flyers get through those challenges.

If the Flyers want to push for a playoff spot and actually make it this season, Sanheim and the defense will need to be great all year long. If he plays at the top of his game, it will make it easier for everyone around him as well.
