This week’s serving of Philadelphia Flyers news and links from around the web.

The Philadelphia Flyers have gone streaking! They earned their third-straight win in shootout fashion against the Ottawa Senators while defeating the Buffalo Sabres and Anaheim Ducks in the two games prior. It’s great seeing this team take care of business, isn’t it?

So, a talented, but older player recently hit the free-agent market after getting his contract terminated by the Los Angeles Kings. His name just so happens to be Ilya Kovalchuk. Should the Flyers have interest? I’m going to go with nah, fam. He isn’t what he used to be, and GM Chuck Fletcher could find a better fit through a potential trade or younger player in the system. Speaking of potential deals, the previously mentioned Ducks could be in the business to sell given their place in the standings at the moment. Could forward Ondrej Kase be a fit? While I like the player, I’m skeptical about possibly giving up James van Riemsdyk in a trade for the young winger and also don’t know if Anaheim would take the noted pidgeon straight-up. The Flyers are now 20-11-5 with 45 points on the season, which is good for the second Wild Card spot in the Eastern Conference. They’ll face the New York Rangers in the next contest, aiming for their fourth-straight win.
