The Philadelphia Flyers head into the first round of the 2023 NHL Draft as one of eight teams with multiple first-round picks. Rebuilders like the Coyotes, Red Wings, Canadiens, Sharks, Blues, Blackhawks, and Predators will all be jockeying with the Flyers to add the most talent Wednesday night, and that competition will continue into day two on Thursday. 2023 NHL Draft rounds 2-7 will take place on Thursday, June 29, starting at 11:00 AM ET.
The Philadelphia Flyers are one of the focuses of the 2023 NHL Draft, picking seventh and 22nd overall. General manager Daniel Briere has been extremely active working the trade phones, having already moved Ivan Provorov for the 22nd pick. Players like Travis Sanheim and Kevin Hayes could be the next players out of Philadelphia as Briere continues his crusade towards adding another pick in round one. In recent days and weeks, it has been speculated that the Flyers really like top prospects Ryan Leonard and Matvei Michkov. It remains to be seen whether or not Michkov slides in the 2023 NHL Draft or is appropriately drafted by his amount of talent. The Flyers’ main focus will likely be on restocking their forward prospects with players like Tyson Foerster expecting to graduate to the big club in 2023. As the excitement continues to build, keep those eyes peeled for more moves by the Philadelphia Flyers.
