It’s time for Philadelphia Flyers fans to crash the All-Star ballot
Flyers fans, now is our time. We can let our voices be heard!
If you haven’t heard by now, Kevin Hayes is the Flyers representative at the 2023 NHL All-Star Game. Now, he’s had a decent year. This will be his first appearance at an all-star game. It’s his best year since arriving here a few years ago, but it has had its controversies. He was recently benched but seems to have shaken that off as of late.
But is Hayes the best player the Flyers could have had to represent them? Hayes is second on the team in points, third in goals, and leads the team in assists. Those are all good qualities to have. But is he the best player in Philly right now?
Travis Konecny leads the team with 20 goals and 20 assists. He’s 12 points from last year’s totals in about half of the games. He’s on pace for a record-breaking year (career high in goals 24, assist 37, and points 61). He is the superstar this team has been needing since Claude Giroux left.
Let’s vote for our Flyers to be in the NHL All-Star Game
Likewise, what about Carter Hart? Hart has been spectacular this season. His numbers are in the top 10 of every major goalie category and he tops the NHL in total shots. Hart has kept this team in every game they’ve played. Without him, this team would’ve won just a handful of games.
Tony DeAngelo has been a great defender and is one of the top scorers on the team. He has been on fire as of late and is one of the league’s better defenders.
So, here is your assignment. Go to: NHL.com/vote. If you have an account, great. If not, set one up for free.
The NHL is allowing fans to vote for “The Last Men Standing”. you can vote for the three players per division: two skaters and a goalie. You can submit up to 10 ballots a day until Tuesday, Jan. 17, at 11:59 p.m.
Flyers fans are an army. I say, let’s vote for Hart, Konecny, and DeAngelo. And if you want to make this more of a Flyers family reunion, elect other former Flyers like Shayne Gostisbehere, Claude Giroux, Martin Jones, Brayden Schenn, and others. Ok, maybe not everyone deserves it, but would you rather see the game filled with Rangers, Penguins, or Devils?
We may not take the division, but we can certainly take the All-Star game! Let’s go! Get out and vote.
